How sweet it is:  Inaugural Cupcake Crawl runs through Oct. 31

WESTSHORE – Seven bakeries are mixing up sweet ingredients this month to create special delicacies smothered in icing for the first Cupcake Crawl.

Five bakeries are in Lorain County, one is in Rocky River and one is in Medina. The event goes through Oct. 31.

Cupcake crawlers can use a downloadable map and passport to find participating bakeries. It is available at:

The map/passport also provides spaces where a signature is obtained when a featured cupcake is purchased. The first 250 participants to get five signatures from different bakeries become eligible for a T-shirt. Those who obtain signatures from all seven bakeries become eligible for a grand prize drawing. The grand prize will be a basket filled with items from each bakery, including mason jars with cupcake ingredients or gift cards, said Alexis Swiniarski of Visit Lorain County , which is sponsoring the event along with the Lorain County Commissioners.

Completed passports can be submitted during business hours to Little Devil Cupcakery, 103 Milan Ave. Suite 5, Amherst; Small Town Sweets, 3249 Liberty Ave., Vermilion; or Visit Lorain County offices, 8025 Leavitt Road, Amherst.

Completed passports also can be submitted by email by taking a photo of the passport and emailing it to:
