Avon sets shred day for residents on Sept. 23

By MICHELE MURPHY

AVON — The city will hold a free shredding day for residents 9 a.m. to 12 noon., Saturday, Sept. 23, at City Hall, 36080 Chester Rd.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this service in order to dispose of personal information such as bills, receipts, tax information or bank statements, said Barbara Brooks, who coordinates this effort for the city.

There are no limitations on how much a resident can bring to shred. However, Brooks said magazines and similar items should be separated and put with regular recycling material.

Another shredding day will be held in May.

For more information, contact Brooks at (440) 937-7821 or bbrooks@cityofavon.com.
