Avon Lake School Board takes step to settle NRG tax issues

AVON LAKE — The Avon Lake school board unanimously approved a proposal last Tuesday that sets the property value for the Avon Lake Power Plant at an average fair market value of $39.5 million through the year 2020.

Lorain County Blue Foundation, a law enforcement nonprofit group, and Statement Limousine of Sheffield Village are helping an emergency management team in Florida to get sorely-needed basic necessities to victims of Hurricane Irma.

Juvenile missing
A Wildberry Circle woman called police to her locate her 15-year-old daughter, who had snuck out of the house. Around 1:45 a.m., the woman called back to report that her daughter had returned home. Police charged the juvenile with being unruly and for violating curfew.
