Avon City Council members compromise on lower raise

AVON – When Avon City Council members get a $1,200 raise in 2020, it’ll be a decade since the last raise.

Members passed the measure Monday after months of discussion, which continued all the way up to the vote.

Hooks for hunger catches big results

AVON/AVON LAKE – A total of 48 teams and 150 fisherman in the recent Hooks for Hunger walleye tournament and 47 children and families in the youth derby on the pier, as well as a few dogs, raised record-setting total of $23,000 for Community Resource Services (CRS).
