Proposed mutual aid agreement will better protect officers

AVON/AVON LAKE/SHEFFIELD VILLAGE – The cities of Avon, Avon Lake and Sheffield Village are moving forward with a police mutual aid agreement meant to better cover officers outside of their own jurisdictions.

This agreement will be in addition to a countywide mutual aid agreement established in 2000. The three cities involved all fall under the Avon Lake Municipal Court jurisdiction.

Silver star recipient still helping fellow soldiers nearly 50 years later

Joe Horvath earned The Silver Star for saving the lives of 29 soldiers during the Vietnam War.
