Dog OD leads to arrest of three on drug charges

North Ridgeville – A trio of Manning Circle residents probably wouldn’t call a dog man’s best friend after North Ridgeville Police arrested them for marijuana growing and other drug-related offenses after searching their home shortly after a dog in their home overdosed on heroin, police said.

Charter school will operate in William S. Barr Elementary School building

Sheffield Village – A charter school has been approved to take over the former Barr Elementary, now owned by Eagle Academy of Columbus. Sheffield Village Council has unanimously upheld the Planning Commission’s recommendation to allow a conditional use for the building. Sterling Education will use the space as a grades three-through-12 Christian charter school.

North Ridgeville teachers accept tentative contract agreement

The North Ridgeville Education Association overwhelmingly ratified a tentative four-year contract with the North Ridgeville Board of Education May 31. The compromise agreement was reached during a mediation session May 17.
