Avon looks to art department; surrounding cities form councils

Avon city officials are having difficulty deciding how to funnel money from the city’s bed tax to a proposed citywide arts and beautification initiative.

Because of state regulations that mandate bed taxes flow through the general fund, the city is looking at creating a whole new department, since an “art fund” wouldn’t be legally possible.
