Learwood students sing, serve and say thanks to local veterans

Friday, Nov. 11, was Veterans Day. By 7:45 a.m., things were bustling in the cafeteria at Learwood Middle School in Avon Lake. The school’s kitchen staff, who had volunteered their time that morning, had breakfast ready to serve to about 150 local veterans. Planning commission approves plans for new Lorain Road UH facility

The planning commission approved an application by University Hospitals to build a $32.4-million health center on Lorain Road. The 50,239-square-foot structure will be located at 32800 Lorain Road. The city and UH announced plans for the facility about a year ago.
