No charges in false ISIS report

A Lorain County grand jury decided not to indict the hotel clerk who was accused of falsely reporting that an Emirati man pledged allegiance to ISIS.

Police were called after Fairfield Inn hotel clerk, Alexis Silva, called her relatives June 29, telling them an Arab man was talking on the phone in the Avon hotel lobby, pledging his allegiance to ISIS.

Committee recommends council vote to approve 6-month moratorium on medical marijuana businesses

A City Council committee has recommended the entire council approve legislation to place a six-month moratorium in the city on any business related to medical marijuana.

The administrative committee discussed the legislation during a 20-minute meeting prior to the Oct. 3 city council meeting.
