Familiar face steps into curriculum director role

Erieview Elementary School Principal Natalie Fior will assume the role of district curriculum director – a newly created position – May 2.

Beginning Aug. 1, she will begin a three-year contract.

According to Avon Lake City Schools Superintendent Bob Scott, the district has been without a curriculum director for at least 10 years.

City moves toward in starting stormwater utility fund

Avon City Council quietly passed an ordinance with no discussion March 28 to establish the creation of a stormwater utility fund.

Though there was no discussion among council members Monday, the necessity to establish a fund has been much discussed within the city.

Now, the particulars, including what the cost will be to residents and organizations, need to be sorted out by council.

Council passes 2016 budget; city continues to deficit spend

The financial picture for the city of North Ridgeville is hardly a rosy one. That was brought clearly into focus yet again as City Council passed an ordinance establishing the 2016 budget by a 7-0 vote at its March 22 meeting.
