City looks beyond Creekside development to water retention initiatives

The city of Avon has finally reached a settlement after a long court battle resulting from the flawed approval of a subdivision in a flood-prone area.

The $2.35 million settlement was awarded to Matthew Garland of Garland Griffin Homes.

The approximately 57 acres of land in the area of Riegelsberger and Schwartz roads will now be a public park, for which plans are already underway.

Budget talks outline difference in attitudes about spending among city leaders

North Ridgeville City Council’s Finance Committee is putting its final touches on the 2016 budget.
The document should be ready for approval by the entire council at its last March meeting.

The committee, which is made up of Chairwoman Roseanne Johnson, Bernadine Butkowski and Dennis Boose, has met several times over the past two weeks to work on the process.
